Andrew is an Associate of the firm and has particular expertise in body corporate matters, where he takes instructions from bodies corporate, lot owners and caretakers/managers in advisory, transactional and dispute resolution matters.
Andrew has particular interest in by-law enforcement and dispute matters and routinely acts for clients in matters before the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. He also has expertise in complex advisory matters, including in respect of layered and integrated resort schemes.
He has recent experience:
- Acting for bodies corporate to enforce by-laws;
- In obtaining orders for a body corporate for the removal of animals from the scheme;
- Acting for a body corporate in QCAT in relation to the termination of a caretaking agreement; and
- In acting for a lot owner before the Commissioner's Office to have a prohibitory by-law removed.
Andrew also regularly acts for bodies corporate in respect of caretaking agreement assignments, community management statement updates and levies recovery matters.
Andrew was born and raised on the Gold Coast and educated at The Southport School, Bond University (where he attained a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce) and the Queensland University of Technology (where he attained a Graduatre Diploma in Legal Practice). Prior to joining ABKJ, Andrew practiced law in another prominent Gold Coast firm, where he gained valuable experience in the areas of property law, commercial law and litigation.
