Quick Facts About Andrew Kyle 

Andrew has particular expertise in body corporate matters, where he regularly takes instructions from bodies corporate in south east Queensland in advisory, transactional and dispute resolution matters. 

He is one of only a handful of lawyers in south east Queensland who practices predominantly in body corporate law. He has recent experience:

  • Acting for bodies corporate in by-law enforcement matters;
  • Acting for bodies corporate in QCAT in relation to the termination of caretaking agreements;
  • In obtaining orders for the removal of animals from schemes;
  • Enforcing orders for the removal of illegal property and fixtures;
  • In defending against challenges to the reasonableness of body corporate decisions;
  • In recovering significant volumes of unpaid body corporate levies from lot owners;
  • Acting for bodies corporate in management rights assignment matters;
  • Acting for bodies corporate in management rights top up and variation matters;
  • Advising bodies corporate in technical compliance and advisory matters, including in respect of layered and integrated resort schemes;
  • Acting for bodies corporate in matters before the Australian Human Rights Commission and Fair Work Commission;
  • Defending actions brought on by Workcover against bodies corporate;
  • Advising on and drafting best practice by-laws for bodies corporate; and
  • Objecting to land valuations issued to bodies corporate.

Andrew was born and raised on the Gold Coast and educated at The Southport School, Bond University (where he attained a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce) and the Queensland University of Technology (where he attained a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice). Prior to joining ABKJ in 2013, Andrew practiced law in another prominent Gold Coast firm, where he gained valuable experience in the areas of property law, succession, commercial law and litigation.

Andrew was admitted to the partnership effective from 1 July 2017.
