Otilia De Sousa’s career as a lawyer started in 1996 when she was admitted as an attorney in South Africa. She worked at a top tier boutique law firm for several years, becoming one of its youngest directors before starting her own law practice in 2001 specialising in Commercial, Family and Property law.
 
For the purposes of being admitted to practice law in Australia, Otilia completed a conversion course at the University of New England and then undertook further study in Sydney at the School of Law. She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2014.
 
In 2016, Otilia moved to the Gold Coast where she has predominantly practised in Family Law and Commercial Law. She was admitted to practise as a solicitor in the Federal Court of Australia in 2021.
 
Otilia has extensive experience in Family Law including parenting and property disputes, divorce, binding financial agreements, domestic violence, child support agreements and mediation and she is highly skilled in court advocacy. Otilia’s broad legal experience extends to commercial and property law matters and she competently applies this knowledge in her management of complex family law financial disputes.
